I’m sure you’ve already seen this massive, trendy foliage plant all over Instagram. So, Monstera is a cool plant that grows new nodes and roots from its bark, kind of like it’s reaching out for a high-five.

You can let it do its thing as a standalone plant next to your bed, or you can train it to climb on your windows or moss poles.

It’s pretty chill and can thrive in low light, but if you’re a lazy pruner like me, you should put it near a south or west-facing window in your bedroom. You can also hang it from a woven macramé or cane basket above your bed. It’s like having your own little jungle oasis to sleep in.

As an interior designer, I’ve seen people totally obsessed with Boston Fern plants. I mean, just look at those elegant, curving leaves; they can instantly transform any space into a tropical paradise.

And the best part? Boston ferns are great at absorbing formaldehyde and xylene, so you’ll sleep like a baby! Most of my clients hang them by their windows or above their beds, but you can also put them on a big stand with other bedroom plants for a statement piece next to your bed!

This plant may have a funny name, but don’t let that fool you!

Dumb cane is actually one of the best bedroom plants for health, with shiny leaves that thrive on low water and light. It’s a tough little plant that doesn’t need any fancy support, so you can just let it do its thing and add a tropical vibe to your bedroom.

Just be careful because dumb cane can be a bit toxic if eaten, so it’s a good idea to keep it out of reach on a high shelf or plant stand near a window. If you want, you can also put it on your dresser, but do group it with other non-toxic snake plants for safety.

I have to say, the Parlor Palm can be a bit high-maintenance with its need for bright light and space to stretch. But let’s be real, it’s a total diva when it comes to filling up your room with some serious greenery. This plant grows in clumps, giving you that full, cornered decor instantly!

Personally, I love scattering these plants around my bed. They create a nice filter against the harsh afternoon sunlight and turn my room into a cozy, peaceful oasis at night.

The zebra plant is totally the winner when it comes to bedroom plants decor. It’s got these tropical veined designs, glossy shine, and towering foliage. But you know what’s even cooler? It can totally handle low light and grows nice and slow, so you don’t have to constantly trim it.

You can totally style it however you want – make it the center of attention or put it around your bed or night stands to add a little touch of nature when you say goodnight!

Are you into Vastushastra, the ancient Indian science for designing homes? No worries, we’ve got you covered! Today, we’ll help you out with the perfect bedroom plants vastu design. Take a look at these five options!

Vastu-Shastra Recommended Money Plants Decor in an Ethnic Bedroom

Money plant doesn’t actually grow you money, but according to Vastushastra, it has the ability to absorb negative electromagnetic waves, toxins, and jealousy vibes. It’s like having a lucky charm in your home. The heart-shaped-leaf pothos is also a symbol of love, relationships, and care.

I actually have a money plant in my own home. I’ve even styled its trellises over my curtains and rods, creating a gorgeous green mesh in my bedroom. You can also hang it over your bed or place a planter next to your window for a lush green oasis.

A Traditional Bedroom With Many Rubber Plant Pots Around the Bed

Now, I know that the rubber plant is a bit large and branched for smaller bedrooms, but for Vastu experts, they’re like the ultimate solution for getting rid of Agni doshas. In fact, rubber plants are symbolic of coins; so, you can place them along the southeast windows for prosperity.

One option is to plant them in metallic or ceramic planters to boost their earthy, positive ion effect, or in stoneware pots for a natural touch. You can also get mini rubber (peperomia) plants to hang them above your bed or seating.

Don’t limit jasmine to your soaps and perfume; this fragrant plant is one of the best bedroom plants for positive energy, wealth attraction and spirituality.

The deets are simple; place jasmine pots along your southern windows to balance the fire element, or put them into the eastern zone to bring in peace.

The happy daffodil is not just a sign that spring is here; it’s also a plant that can bring good luck, fortune, and positive vibes to your space. And that’s not all! Many experts suggest putting daffodils in the northeast corner of your home for career, spiritual, and professional growth.

So, why not add some vases or potted yellow daffodils to create a sunny and cheerful atmosphere in your bedroom? Or, if you prefer a more neutral and minimal look, you can opt for simple white daffodils instead!

Two Potted Aloe Vera Plants on a East-Facing Windowsill

Did you know that Aloe is the only type of cactus that Vastu experts recommend? Yeah, it gives off ‘prana’ or positive energy in your home, and it’s a symbol of growth, prosperity, and well-being if you put it near your east-facing windows.

But hey, this prickly Aloe can be a bit tricky for bedroom decor. So, you can keep it in pots on your window sill or hang them in strong macramé planters for a cool layered look.

Feng means ‘wind,’ and Shui means ‘water.’ So, Feng Shui is an old Chinese art of balancing these elements and arranging your interiors and plants for complete harmony. Now, let’s take a look at the top bedroom plants recommended by these wise Chinese scholars.

Meet Jade, the ultimate bedroom plant for good luck and fortune. According to Feng Shui gurus, you can place Jade in the southeast corner to attract money and career opportunities. If you’re feeling Artsy, pop it in the western corner to ignite your creativity.

One of my personal faves is creating a Zen bedroom garden by planting Jade with other succulents and cacti in a shallow tray. But when it outgrows its space, I transfer it to a stylish planter on my dresser and add some rocks or pebbles for that extra touch of personalization.

Stylish Areca Bedroom Plants Beside a Platform Bed

You’d be amazed to know that the Areca palm is a powerful generator of ‘Li Qi,’ the vibrant and energetic force of growth, ambition, and fame. So, Feng Shui experts recommend placing this plant on the southern or eastern side, along with some snake or money plants, for more impact.

The Areca palm is not only a stylish addition to your space but can also be placed on both sides of your headboard or along your window sills. It also serves as an excellent air filter, effectively removing benzene and formaldehyde, and improving the air quality.

So, remember back in school when we used those lavender sticks for flower decoration competitions? Well, it turns out lavender is more than just a pretty plant. According to Feng shui experts, it’s like a lifeline of peace, tranquility, and love.

So, if you want to bring those good vibes into your home, just grab a lavender plant and put it in the southeast corner (also known as the wealth corner). You’ll definitely feel the difference!

And if you want to go all out, why not get some colorful handmade pots for your lavender plants and put them on your window sills? Or you can even go for lavender wallpapers, imprints, and dried flower pieces to match the whole vibe. It’s all about creating that peaceful atmosphere.

Geranium Bedroom Plants for Positive Energy Along a Bedroom Sill
Photo by Germano Romero on Unsplash

Geranium is one of the coolest bedroom plants for feng shui decor. It’s all about bringing in good luck, prosperity, and that awesome ‘chi’ energy into your space. These plants work best in south-facing bedrooms, whether you want them as a standalone or hanging beauties.

But hey, some feng shui experts think that geranium’s fiery energy might mess with your sleep in the long run. So, if you want to play it safe, go for the smaller varieties or keep them at a distance from your bed.

Are you excited to bring Feng shui vibes into your bedroom plants decor ideas? Say hello to the string of pearls, a metal element plant for the western and northern directions! It’s lush, cascading and looks amazing whether you put it in a pot or let it climb up a trellis.

Some designers even hang it on a column or beam to create a cool vertical garden look. So go ahead, embrace the beauty of the string of pearls in your room!

If you think sleep is all about being in a fancy anti-radiation room and complete darkness, then just wait until we introduce you to these five amazing plants that will show you what real sleep is all about!

Sleep-Promoting Peace Lily Plants Along a Window Sill

Man, it’s insane how we breathe in all that benzene and formaldehyde on our way to work! But thankfully, peace lily is here to the rescue! This good boy not only sucks up all those toxins, but it also takes care of trichloroethylene, which messes with our sleep and heart.

And as if that wasn’t enough, peace lilies even release some moisture into the air, keeping our skin and throat from drying out. Talk about a win-win! It’s like having a personal sleep and skincare assistant right in our homes!

Spider plants are the most low-maintenance, drought and humidity resistant bedroom plants out there! And it’s not just their arched, striped leaves that make them awesome.

These guys absorb a ton of carbon monoxide and formaldehyde, which actually calms your bed and promotes sleep. Forget about popping those melatonin pills, just hang out with your spider plant and catch some Z’s!

Prayer plants are totally awesome at absorbing toxins and pollutants, just like other bedroom plants for better sleep. But what sets this plant apart is its super cool opening and folding cycle that helps regulate your circadian rhythm.

So instead of staring at your phone or iPad before bed, why not switch it up and have a prayer plant pot instead? It’s way more chill and will definitely help you be more productive the next day!

Besides enjoying delicious food and going on exciting trips, it’s important to give your brain some time to unwind. And when it comes to relaxation, Valerian is the way to go.

Valerian acts like a neurotransmitter for your brain, helping to slow down its activity and promote a sense of calm and sleep. It also boosts serotonin, a natural hormone that plays a key role in regulating your mood and sleep patterns.

Plus, growing Valerian is a breeze! Just start by germinating its seeds and planting them in large 18-inch pots for the best results.

When it comes to the best bedroom plants for sleep, you can’t forget about Gardenia. This lovely flowering plant releases sleep-inducing compounds like linalool and benzyl acetate through its sweet aroma.

So, I suggest placing it somewhere close to your bed, like near your headboard or bedside table, where you can easily enjoy its delightful scent.

Now, let’s check out five amazing plants that can cleanse the air in your bedroom and literally work as a natural oxygen tank right next to your bed.

Say goodbye to those fancy anti-pollution creams and say hello to English Ivy! It’s the ultimate solution for absorbing ammonia, benzene, and formaldehyde in your home.

Now, instead of using those bulky purifiers, you can have large English Ivy trellis curtains that not only purify the air but also emit oxygen. And if you want something smaller, you can place potted ivies by your headboard to reduce allergens and aid respiratory diseases. It’s a win-win!

The snake plant, also known as the mother-in-law’s tongue, is like a superhero when it comes to cleaning the air. It can remove carbon dioxide and benzene from its surroundings.

And the best part? It’s super easy to take care of! This plant can thrive in low light and doesn’t need a lot of water or air. So, whether you place it by your headboard or next to your favorite seat, it’s a winner for keeping the air fresh and oxygenated.

Did you know that the ‘Dracaena’ subspecies was identified as one of the best bedroom plants for oxygen by NASA? Well, that’s true! Not only does it pump out oxygen while you sleep, but it also helps to boost the humidity inside your home. That means you’ll be able to breathe easier, and it can even help with respiratory problems. Pretty neat, huh?

The Arrowhead plant may be small and a little tricky to trim every week, but it’s actually one of the coolest plants for getting rid of benzene and carbon monoxide in the air. Plus, it’s super low-maintenance – just a little water and fertilizer.

You can even hang it from your window frames and have your own air purifying screen right at home.
